At Sunday Celebration Services… We get together each week to worship, pray and study the Bible together. The middle 2 Sundays of the month we have our regular Celebration gathering. This time is always laid back and casual. It's not so much of a 'service' as it is a gathering of friends with a common desire to grow in our relationship with Jesus and with each other. We don't always follow the same format - we like to mix things up. Most often our worship is expressed through music, but we are also exploring more aspects of worship, including the arts. We also have a teaching time, but we try to keep it more interactive than an average 'sermon'. The first Sunday of each month we gather at someone's home to share a meal together rather than our normal meeting. The fourth Sunday of the month is "Kids & Coffee"; this is a night where we gear the message towards the younger generation - which makes up close to half our congregation! We try to get the adults involved and make it a completely interactive, inter-generational time.
Children worship with the adults and then head off to have their own interactive learning time while we adults do the same. We value having kids as part of our community and encourage them to actively participate in worship, including singing, dancing, etc. (under the supervision of their parents). The area of childrens' ministry is something that we are currently exploring options and praying for direction; at the moment is rather 'fluid' (in other words, it's open to change on a week-to-week basis!).
We are now gathering for our Celebration service at the home of Joe & Betsy Glick in Oley. (The first Sunday of every month we gather in someone's home for dinner and fellowship; you are welcome to join us - just give a call for directions.
